Sometime about 1970-72, EPI (speaker mfgr) came into the store in Boston and did a "clinic" like McIntosh would do. Only, they'd run a sweep of your speakers. Somewhat unscientific; but I found a sweep of my Altec dual 416a/511 802d. Using the stock n500 crossover then. Couldn't resist hauling one in for it. Enjoy, for what its worth. Someone kindly activate the link. I haven't mastered it here yet.

Thanks! Always nice to see what this stuff did when it was new. For the early '70s, that was a pretty decent RTA, with a chart recorder they'd have to have made some good sales to pay for it. Did any of their offerings top your Altecs?

The link works fine. If you want the pic to autoload, click "IMAGE", and paste the URL there instead.

Nice clockwork pics too! Hobby or business?

Can't remember any notable curves from other samples, i.e. EPI, (I only saved my Altec) IIRC, they praised their off axis response and some other features. Unfortunately that was a long time ago and while there may be some other paper clues yet to be rediscovered, its hit or miss. The thing is, I knew I had that chart. Finding it was the problem. The clocks, btw are a hobby and a small business. Thanks for asking.

Love those clocks, I was up in Concord NH recently and they have a clock like those all cleaned up behind glass on a main drag, I spent several minutes enjoying that before I was dragged off by the wife.
I love how much effort was put into the stands which were not meant to be seen, but they still formed those steel legs into a Cabriolet style, and one of the ones you has lovely decorative drawer pulls.
    Wonderful stuff.
    Thanks

    Harry
